What Customers Say About London Calling:

No problems. Bought this album for my child for Christmas. Quick to ship.

When I played this album to my friends they all thought I'd joined a skinhead group, and really didn't give it a chance. A ROCK MASTERPIECE. Every cut is done with urgency.every cut is so different. Well, over 30 years after the release of London Calling, I've come to the conclusion that THIS IS ONE OF THE 10 BEST ROCK ALBUMS IN HISTORY. When I first purchased this in 1980, punk and new wave rock had a bad reputation with the Sex Pistols and other ranting pogo-dancing head bangers.

I still get all revved up when I hear it. The production especially is superb.something usually not expected from a punkesque band. If you love rock and roll.this one is an all-time gem. Time has proven that. If it didn't sound like The Eagles, Steely Dan or The Beatles they dismissed it as fluff. When leader Joe Strummer died in 2002 at age 50 of a heart attack, most people hardly knew about it or cared.

This album gave it credibility because it was so eclectic and creative. How can you go wrong with titles like "Rudy Can't Fail, Lost In The Supermarket, Hateful, Spanish Bombs, The Right Profile (a song about doomed actor Montgomery Clift) Brand New Cadillac etc. Nobody mentioned it on the news or in the papers. They also were one of the greatest rock bands in the world during that time.if not the best. That's how superficial most listeners are. It's unfortunate that most people didn't even bother because they were so different in scope.

Very cimematic in scope. This band was bursting at the seams with creativity.

This is not a punk album; they had evolved way beyond that. This is simply one of the greatest albums of popular music that will ever be recorded. If you're interested enough to have looked up this album on Amazon, then you are the kind of person that MUST own this record.I used to think this was a great album that kind of ran out of steam towards the end.I was wrong. The is a flat-out masterpiece that doesn't have a weak SECOND, let alone song. The invention is astonishing.

Brilliant production. Five stars are not enough. If you don't have it, then buy it. After 30 years it remains unsurpassed. The apogee of rock. Masterful playing, writing and singing.

This record is one of the finest examples of electric as opposed to electronic music. One reason I bother to keep a turntable going. For those that don't know the album cover of London Calling is a take-off of Elvis Presley's first record, but instead of smiling for the camera the Clash are smashing a guitar.

London Calling is easily one of the 10 best albums from it's era. This is music that suffers from being chopped up into samples, and can't be fully described in bits. Song for song a masterpiece.

I remember walking into a record store in December '79 and the owner of the store was raging against the album art. The amazing nuance of a finger on a string and a vocal track recorded in a single take are things that mostly disappeared not long after this record came out. Buy the LP and you'll see what I mean.

To me this record, along with the Elvis record bookmark the beginning and end of the first 25 years of rock music. The sound is so generous and the passion right out there on the edge.
